If you're fond of mellow, sunday-drive, walk-in-the-park, peaceful-, soothing- kind of music,
Outerhope is the indie band to look out for.

Their music is a cross between [Korean indie band] BlueDawn's* soft rhythm and vocals, [Japanese singer] Bonnie Pink's playful jazzy-pop-ish melody, and [Filipino group] Southborder's cool, ear-feasting songs..
I'm surprised they're still under shadows albeit the yummyness of their music. Which is also a good thing, I guess, since it's recurrent that a music group's quality of music degrades with the increase of fame. (That doesn't always happen, but it happens.) But of course I wish the best for this group, hoping that even if one day they'll be better known, their music will still stay beautiful.
Free taste of their album here >>

[link]Will go to Fully Booked sometime this month to buy a copy of their album. So excited.

Afterwards I'm gonna hunt down one of the band's members and ask for an autograph + pic snap. Will post pics here when done.

Take note: it's rare for me to decide to splurge like this, since I can easily pirate
stuff out of the net. Haha~ But for this group, I'll be nice.

* Now disbanded. Dawn, the female singer, is now doing solo as Han Hee Jung. Thanks to ~cocteautwins for introducing BlueDawn to me.

This was never the way I planned
Not my intention
I got so brave, drink in hand
Lost my discretion
It's not what, I'm used to
Just wanna try you on
I'm curi-ous for you
Caught my attention
I kissed a girl and I liked it
The taste of her cherry Chapstick
I kissed a girl just to try it
I hope my boyfriend don't mind it
It felt so wrong
It felt so right
Don't mean I'm in love tonight
I kissed a girl and I liked it..
I liked it
No, I don't even know your name
It doesn't matter,
You're my experimental game
Just human nature,
It's not what,
Good girls do
Not how they should behave
My head gets so confused
Hard to obey
I kissed a girl and I liked it
The taste of her cherry Chapstick
I kissed a girl just to try it
I hope my boyfriend don't mind it
It felt so wrong
It felt so right
Don't mean I'm in love tonight
I kissed a girl and I liked it..
I liked it
Us girls we are so magical
Soft skin, red lips, so kissable
Hard to resist so touchable
Too good to deny it
Ain't no big deal, it's innocent
I kissed a girl and I liked it
The taste of her cherry Chapstick
I kissed a girl just to try it
I hope my boyfriend don't mind it
It felt so wrong
It felt so right
Don't mean I'm in love tonight
I kissed a girl and I liked it
I liked it

OMG. I love this song.

Either I can relate or that I
wish I can relate to it, I'm not really sure. This song blew me away (yeah, and those who heard me sing this as well. Buwahahahahaha~

)
Thanks, ~
NaLdiAn for hazing me with this song. Haha, I love it.

Katy Perry album added to my cart.
..still thinking about it..

I have acquired new awareness of a certain disease. Yey!

Now, should I notice symptoms in myself that resembles those from this disease, I'll be spared of the initial "What's this?" reaction, and just move straight to the "Oh, no.." shock.

rbaluyos lent me his copy of the series,
1 Litre of Tears-- a story about 15-year old
Ikeuchi Aya who got diagnosed with Spinocerebellar Degeneration [SCD].
This is a Japanese drama adapted from the book,
Ichi Rittoru no Namida (1リットルの涙~) : an actual diary written by a certain Aya Kitō. Read all about it here >>
[link] ~

Haha, in my previous journal, I mentioned that my nephew ~
xxriopandaxx brought home some Japanese Men-idol magazines.. Among all the bishies that I've seen in those mags (I'm not fond of bishies, but with exceptions, hehe), one in particular really caught my eye. Ryō Nishikido!

I was surprised that he was casted in this series!
Looks alone, he came close to my ideals: with tan skin, striking eyes, full lips, and the fact that he's not immediately handsome..
(I like men/ women whose appeal intensifies the longer you spend time with them, as if there's no end to their beauty. Like, there's always something more attractive to them the day after-- di nakakasawa)..He seem to have Malay blood in him, and I wonder if he's borne from a Filipino? (I can't be sure, since in Japan they often do surgery to the eyelids, to make someone look more expressive.) Anyhoo, he's nice to look at.

It made my experience of 1 Litre of Tears more heart-filling (his acting wasn't that bad, either). Haha, they made the right choice in casting Ryō Nishikido for his role, he fit in it very well.

Oh and, one time while chatting with ~
galingsadodongcow and ~
Cklaighe, Erika Sawajiri was mentioned.. Apparantly, she is ~
galingsadodongcow's object of master.. errr.. uhmm.. *thinking of a more wholesome term* Well, anyway, let's just assume you already got my drift..

Erika Sawajiri played Ikeuchi Aya in the said Japanese drama, and I must say, she did very well! Actually all of the actors were very good, albeit there were instances where some seemed awkward (but I reckon those were part of the act?).

T'was a good watch. You can see it online here >>
[link]
Ready your box of tissues and comfy pillow when you do, though.

I wish I can have a copy Aya Kitō's published diary, but I heard it hasn't been published in English yet (I think? Hehe.. Will scavenge the bookstores~).

How old is he, really? I heard he's somewhere near 40.

It must be very convenient to be talented, ne? It opens new avenues and possibilities, and helps make you look young, longer.

One time, a friend told me that Gackt looks gay (no offense, he said), and because of that he can't appreciate the singer. Web-wide, there are a lot of 'em dudes who deduce like this. It's funny how easy it is for some peeps to regard others so shallowly.
Gackt markets himself as someone androgynous alright, but it's unfair to just judge him because of his looks in terms of personal opinion. His music rocks, most of his songs contain beautiful message, and his status in the Japanese society is respectful. I got drawn to him initially because of his voice and his songs (particularly
Tsuki no Uta from the anime Texhnolyze), it was only later that I became 'attuned' to his looks (haha, he looked just like some other Japanese to me at first).
Did you know that Final Fantasy VIII's Squall character was modeled after him when he was younger?I admired this man more, after I watched some of his TV appearances-- he's seriously funny (there's pun), he doesn't mind being made fun of, he virtuously contributes to the Japanese society off-cam/ off-mic, he's kind to animals, he's not discriminating, he takes good care of his crew, etc.. He's generally a nice person, and despite his unconventional childhood, he still thinks better of life. It's true that I might just be seeing the tip of the iceberg, but it's still not right to demean someone
just because.
Plus just to make it clear, I'm not that shallow: I don't look up to someone
just because of appearance, or just because I think him/ her eye-candy-- the peeps who know me can attest that I don't go for looks, it is what's inside that matters to me most importantly. There has to be some sort of substance behind that shell.
My thoughts to this:
It's sad but it's true: if you scale on any of the extremes, you're an outsider and the tendency is, most people will find it hard to accept you. As if there's no choice but to be mediocre.
If you're too ugly, you're out.
If you're too beautiful, you're out.
Regardless of how evil or good your deeds are, the majority will still judge you heavily based on appearance. At times there are grounds to it I guess, but it's often misleading.
And besides, what's with men and other men who look
less manly? I mean, pssssh.. Who cares, right? Boys who sets a big deal with metrosexuals strike me as insecure and immature. Vis-a-vis to girls who regard the same.
..
Gackt in Hollywood?! Whoa! For real?
Yes! He'll be along side Josh Hartnett and Demi Moore. I heard the feel of the movie will be similar to the Last Samurai and Silk Road, but in a more artistic sense.
"The film is named after a type of traditional Japanese puppet theater, but the universe it is set in also draws inspiration from origami, video games, and other sources. Hartnett plays a drifter on a quest for revenge. Gackt will play his companion, a samurai named Yoshi.
This movie, entitled Bunraku, will be Gackt's second movie role since he starred with Hyde in the 2003 film "Moon Child."
Filming began in Romania during the middle of this month. The movie is scheduled to hit U.S. theaters in 2009, but no release information for Japan has been announced yet."Watch this funny clip >>

'musta na?
I found a reaaaaaally cute program on Canadian radio. It's called "Definitely Not the Opera". here's the official site: [link]
you can also search for past episodes on ODEO -> [link]
just search: "CBC DNTO"
The show talks about pop culture in Canadian society but I think it relates a lot with universal issues. The host Sook-Yin Lee (Chinese-Canadian) is just sooo lovely; she's smart and her way of speaking really hit me up here *pointing at temple* and down here *pointing at heart*
I like her street interviews, her personal stories, her friends' stories and she makes the lives of people seem colourful.
Unfortunately she's on leave for 2 months cause she's directing a feature film. Which is why I'm suggesting you to check out the past episodes as well.
Right now, sitting in for SYL is Marcy Markusa (Ukrainian-Canadian) who's also as smart and as interesting as her.
~
Right now, I'm a bit busy with studies, thus I wasn't able to post anything on my WPblog. Pero siguradong makakaraos din.
btw... I'm sorry I didn't notice, Belated Happy Birthday!
I hope you're keeping up with life and I hope we can meet up again in the near future.
Take care!
